Week In The Life Monday | Album Pages

I have had Monday of my Week In The Life album done for a little while now. It came together really easily and I am happy with how it turned out.

As I was putting my day together I knew that not every day was going to be the same. I am quite all right with that. Some people like consistency. Some do not.

For instance this first page. I am pretty sure that I am going to start every day with a 6x8 photo as below. I love the look of a white border around my photos and I will stick with that theme throughout. But that might be the end of my consistency.

This photo is not the best quality but I am not going to let it bother me. It is a photo of what usually happens every afternoon. Typically after school I let them wind down and watch a show on netflix. Sometimes they have to wait until their homework is done, chores, ect. Sometimes they watch right away. But this is the scene, Noah on the couch and Maddie immediately getting a snack because she is starving.

The other side acts as a page divider. Michaels has these 12x12 sheets of transparencies right now and I knew that it would make a great divider. I added the hello monday circle in the middle and called it good.

Here is what the other side looks like. I plan on adding something to the backside of the hello monday chipboard piece. I need to get a 2 inch circle punch.

I used one of the 3x8 photo templates from Ali Edwards. I love the hybrid look and created a hybrid page here. I printed out the actual template onto white cardstock and trimmed it down. I cropped the photos to size using photoshop and then printed them out onto photo paper. I adhered the photos onto the cardstock and added a few fun embellishments.

One more note : I believe Monday might have been the only day I got photos of all three meals.

On the other side of the 3x8 is a story about FRED the frog. I created another hybrid page. Again another template from Ali Edwards.

I used the same technique as before. I printed off the template minus the photo onto white cardstock.
The blue letter stickers fit perfectly across the template and then I added a stamp and a star. At the bottom of the page I added a label from Kellie Stamps.

The other side has the 4x6 Monday card from the Ali Edwards Week In The Life Kit and then a photo collage I created.

These two photos went together well because they were both part of our AM story. I snuck in to wake Katelyn up and snapped a photo. I wish the blue blanket wasn't in the photo but I wasn't about to move it and wake her up. She always sleeps with 3 or 4 blankets every night. The other photo is when we were running late and I had to drive them to the bus stop.

In the middle of the two photos I added in a few digital brushes and a gold star.

Moving on to the other side. This page has a random mix of photos and journaling cards. I love how this one turned out. The mix of black and white with the pops of colors.

The top pocket has some journaling about the morning and afternoon. I added one of the rubber pieces from the kit onto the top part, adding the circle stamp from the kit in the middle of the acrylic start shaped embellishment.

The photo down below was a capture of when Patrick came home from work. The kids always ask if Daddy's going to be home soon. They went out to play in the front yard and wait for daddy. I snapped the photo from inside the front door way. Love how this one turned out.

One the other side I added in a 3x4 pocket page to hold photos and journaling. This first photo is of Maddie eating the strawberries that I had bought earlier that morning.

On the other side I stapled the white M from the Kit and added a few embellishments. The wood veneer is from Color Cast Designs and I ordered those for this particular project. There is a pack of them with all the days of the week. I plan on adding one to each day somewhere throughout the album.

Here is a look at the bottom cards. The journaling card was from the kit and I added the boxed Monday stamp onto the journaling card and I love it. These fun stamps I could seriously use every day. They were from the Ali Edwards Day In The Life kit and I am so glad I have them.

The photo is of me checking in on all my social media sites right after the kids were off to school. This is very typical. Me in my glasses and pajamas looking at my phone for a few minutes.

The other side holds more fun things from Monday.

It seems like that I am always taking photos of things and then sharing them online. I wanted to share this insert I made from a little porch upgrade. I also made a filler card from an Ali Edwards overlay which I shrunk down and made one of the Mondays red to match my spread. I think I want to add a card similar to this everyday, it would be fun.

The bottom cards are a journaling card that has the number 1 on it. I debated back and forth about these numbers. What was I going to do with them, use them or not use them. How was I going to use them. I decided to use them and I will figure it out as I go. I added the number 1 here. Not my favorite but it will do. I added the story of Noah being wrapped up in a baby burrito onto the journaling card that is next to his photo.

It turned out that when I thought I was finished with the day I had some more journaling I needed to get into the album. I decided to add another photo and stick my journaling onto the backside. I went with a photo of my favorite chips that I have recently discovered. Oh yumm.

My last pages of Monday look like this.

Once both of these were printed out I adhered them both back to back and punched holes to add them directly into the album. I love the look of it not in a page protector.

I used one of the journaling card that comes in the kit, using the digital version to print this one out. I added the afternoon stamp from Kellie Stamps as well. It told the funny story about how  " Mean Mom " always had to come out and play ! Loved the end result.

In the early beginning stages of planning out this album I thought that it would be fun to have a photo collage every day or at least most days. I saw these fun digital brushes from Ali and decided to use one of them each day. As sort of a loose theme. I could add in photos that fit under the theme.

Todays theme was WE GO.  I went to the gym for my 8:30 am zumba class and then on to Trader Joes. That night me and Katelyn went and did some school related errands. I made this page in photoshop and am so happy with the way it turned out.

Here is a closer look at the bottom.

That is all I have for Monday of Week In The Life. I am probably about half way done with Tuesday right now. I had some Design Team projects that I had to take care of. I will share more as I get it all finished. Did anyone else tackle Week In The Life as well or are planning on it ?

See you next time.

Project Life Week 16 | Kellie Stamps

Hello there everyone !

I am excited to be sharing with you my Project Life Week 16 pages with you today.

** Edited. I messed up the week # but the dates are correct. ** I caught it and will fix it for my album. ** OOPS !!

Yes, I still need to get back and share my Week In The Life photos from the last two days with you all. But in the meantime I wanted to share some creative goodness with you.

This particular week was somewhat hard to piece together with the lighter and the darker photos but hopefully I have found a happy medium. The color scheme was pretty apparent when I started to print out my photos and thankfully for the most part the colors seemed to mostly match.

Here is what both sides look like.

This is the left side of the spread. I created these pages with the help of the May releases of Kellie Stamps. This month they have a digital stamp set called MY FAVE and then a clear stamp called LABEL that.

I made my own title card this time. I staggered one of the digital stamp sentences on a white piece of cardstock. I added a few labels with the week number and the dates to make it complete.

This first journaling card is from the Studio Calico Documenter kit. I added a digital stamp under the circle and added my journaling underneath.

On the photo I added a circle label stamp from the Kellie Stamps set with a few other embellishments.

This particular week the kids spent some time outside pretending to be warrior cats from the books that Katelyn is currently reading. They gathered some fuzzy weeds for their pretend beds.

The bottom two photos both have some fun digital stamps from the MY FAVES set. The photo on the left is Maddie gathering fuzzy weeds. The right hand side is a collage of photos from Katelyn's soccer game that week.

This card from Studio Calico was seriously perfect. The colors from this card pretty much set up the colors for the whole spread and I love the little stems. I added a quote that I kept hearing through out the week onto the card.

The other photo is from our Wednesday adventure to the park. I added a gold foil transparency I found from Michael's. They come in sheets of 12x12 cards, simply love them.

Here is a look at the right side.

On Wednesday we took a bike ride down the bike path and this time there was water in the river. We spent some time wandering around looking for rabbits and I took some photos with my phone.

I used one of the clear stamps on the photo and added the geotag on top.

In the digital stamp set there is this fun netflix saying. It was perfect for me because I am loving watching it while I do laundry, clean, and scrapbook. I added the digital stamp to this perfect journaling card from SC.

Here is a look at some of the bottom part of my spread. The photo is from our park adventures. These two had lots of fun searching for moss.

As always I am always trying to better my small photography skills. I was outside one night at dusk trying to figure out how to shoot in this low light. I added a bit of conversation that occurred on the bottom of the photo.

Since I added some yellow on the left side of my spread I had to continue to use it on this side. I added this fun yellow circle on top of a doily.  The other card is a photo I took of Katelyn at soccer practice.

One night Noah insisted on helping me make dinner. I was totally excited and loved making dinner with him.

Week 16 is in the books. This one turned out great and I am so happy to have it all documented.

Don't forget to check out Kellie Stamps. They are simply fabulous and I having so much fun creating with them.

Take care everyone !

Week In The Life 2016 | Friday

The weekend is here !! The weekend is here !!

I am looking forward to it as I always do. I am a huge fan of the weekends.

I was thinking about this past week that I participated in the WITL. Thinking how it was not a completely normal week, then on the other hand it was. This time of the year we have soccer and baseball practice, and Girl Scouts. But it just so happened that none of those activities happened this week. The boys were going on a camping trip today and that is not normal either. But this is what makes life interesting and definitely not boring. I will take normal life all day, ever day, seven days a week.

What is normal. Ali Edwards shared a wonderful quote from Mary Jean Irion on her blog that I want to include in my album somewhere. It was a great quote.

Friday morning started out with getting the kids off to school like usual. I went in to work on the computer some. Using lots of lots of patience because the computer still is not working properly. I again begged and pleaded with Patrick. We put a plan in motion to get it updated and working smoothly again.

I also spent some time deep cleaning the carpet in the back of my van. For the past couple days there has been a bad smell in the car. We finally figured out what was causing it. I have a clean smelling car again.

The boys were leaving later to go on a boys only camping trip with our church group. I needed to run to the store for " Essentials ". I hopped in the shower and got ready.

I am not a person that is into make up lately. Not really have I been ever. This is my makeup bag.

I texted Patrick to see if he wanted to meet for lunch. We ended up at Flaming Skewers. Yumm. We both had pita sandwiches. He had rice. I had salad.

I picked up Noah and Maddie at school because I wanted to take Noah to get his hair cut before they went camping. Forgot to get a photo.

We filled up the van with gas and picked out a few treats at the gas station before it was time to go pick up Katelyn. We had a few minutes before she came out so we took a few selfies. This was the best one.

I dropped the kids off at home and ran to Albertsons for necessities for the weekend.

Necessities list :

The boys wanted little soda cans for their camping.
Frozen pizza for the girls for dinner.
Cake and jello were requested.
Ice cream and chips for me.
Dr. Pepper for the mama.
Popcorn for our movie.

I tried to take a photo of me putting groceries in the car. The place was packed with lots of people around so I figured this would do.  I felt really akward setting up the timer on the shopping cart. But you got to do what you got to do when its WITL.

The boys got busy packing up the car. The tent and sleeping bags are in and they are ready to go.

Patrick is so great about getting me photos. Here are some he sent me over the weekend.

Setting up the tent.

The boys went off looking for ladybugs.

The beautiful sunset.

The trees are huge up there in the mountains.

The girls played some Minecraft while I did some more scrapbooking.

They went to bed way late and so did I but that is what we do when the boys are gone. We had a great time ! All in all it was a great day.

Stay tuned for Saturday and more scrappy goodness. Have great day everyone.

Week In The Life | Wednesday & Thursday

Welcome to Week In The Life | Wednesday and Thursday

I have to be honest. Wednesday was rough. For so many reasons. But it was also wonderful. For so many reasons.

There were battles. Funny moments and everything else in between.

I woke up not feeling so great. Tired mostly, I have been fighting a mild cold. I took two Advil cold and sinus along with some Doterra oils hoping that will help.

I even put on my workout clothes. I told myself that if I go for a walk I can check my IG feed and such.

This week at school Maddie and her class are participating in Apple Valley Days. Each kid gets to play a pioneer. They get to dress up, bring lunches in buckets to school. Lots of fun. We braided her hair like the pioneers did and she carried her " school " books with her belt. Lots of fun.

** I have not edited any of these photos I am sharing this week for Week In The Life. **

After the school I didn't feel like doing anything. I ended up on the computer trying to write the previous blog post. Currently our computer is having some difficulties, as Iphoto is not working real well. Last night I begged my hubby to see if he can help over the weekend. I spent the next three hours uploading photos to the blog, trying not to get too frustrated, and working on my album.

If you guys could see my room right now you would laugh. It is a disaster. Things everywhere, a few different projects going on at once. Oh well, at least its a happy mess. I worked on my album some while I was waiting here and there for my slow computer.

I took a shower and went to pick up the kids. It is Wednesday and the kids always ask me to pick them up from school because its short day and the bus is all sorts of crazy !!

I snap a photo of our milage and the temperature. 88 degrees already.

Before we even get to the car Noah says he needs to go to the bathroom really bad. We waited and wandered 7 Eleven while we waited. I offer to take him to the school bathroom but he refuses. "Mom, you don't want to go in there. " Okay we stop at 7 Eleven. That lead to slurpies and a big gulp for me.

For me. Dr. Pepper all the way.

For them.

On the way to the library we each take turns taking a play by play of our day. I went first says my day was pretty boring and then everyone else chimed in that their day was the most boring. They chuckled when I went on and on about fighting with the computer for 3 hours and almost took a nap 27 times. It was good times. These little moments were the sprinkles of life.

Off to the library because Katelyn is in crisis. She doesn't have a book to read. So insert a trip to the library.

Noah read a whole book to me. By himself. This is HUGE !! I loved every minute of it.

I love me a stack of library books.

We got home and I was about to start dinner when I got a text that Girl Scouts was cancelled. The girls usually have Girl Scouts on Wednesdays. Plan B for dinner, BBQ. Patrick came home shortly after that and we both, mostly him cooked/BBQed.

We recently got a new BBQ because our old one bit the dust. Katelyn was so excited about having bbqed foods again she kept mentioning it all through dinner. " Oh man, I love the new BBQ ".

On the menu tonight was sausages, mini bell peppers, corn on the cob, and olives. Nothing fancy but oh so good.

Of course the kids swam today. As soon as we got home basically they were in the pool.

I love our neighborhood, and our neighbors. This scene is very typical. Once someone is outside working on their yard, or playing with their kids we all tend to gather and chat. This lasted a while. I snuck a photo and purposely made everyone blurry. Love it !

The adults chat and the kids play.

Noah still loves to take tubs unlike the girls. He likes to take his time, make messes, get lots of water on the floor, ect. This bathroom is one of those unfinished projects.

I took several shots of him in the tub. I can't decide which one I like more.

Katelyn has lots of homework this week for some reason. More than normal. I am guessing that it is because we are nearing the end of the school year. She sat at the counter to do her homework before bed.

Remember when I said that Wednesday was rough. Noah was testing me the whole afternoon. Wanting to use new toothpaste, and then wanted to use normal floss instead of his kid floss, after that it was can I sleep in the teepee. This kid is stubborn as anything and will not give up. I said no to many things today but we won the teepee battle. I let him sleep in his room and boy was he happy. I was tired, I was past the point of wanting to be a parent. That time is usually between 7 and 8 pm. Some battles are ok to lose just as long as you win the war.

We even had a bedtime story in the teepee.

That is the end of Wednesday. Whew. I am grateful that tomorrow is another day.

Thursday.

In the morning I went through the grocery ads and did a little meal planning while I caught up on one of my tv shows.

I showered and actually did my hair I think for the first time this week. Ooops. Thursdays are the days that I go and help out at the school. I did just that and even managed to get a quick photo before anyone realized it. Thank goodness it was a slow day in the office. I lucked out. I have to say that I love helping out in the classroom and even making copies for the teachers. It gives me an opportunity to interact with their teachers, check up on the kids, and even get to know the office ladies and other teachers.

After the school I went to Trader Joes and then a brief stop in at Albertsons. While at Albertsons I realized that I was looking at the wrong weeks ads. Gosh darn it. Since I was there I grabbed an ad and did a little shopping for a few things on sale. Thankfully most of them were on sale again so I didn't miss out on much. I headed home kind of bummed that I wasn't going to get the chance to eat out for lunch. That is usually the plan. Go volunteer, then grocery shop and grab some lunch.

While at Trader Joes I picked up this bag of Riced Califlower to substitute it for rice. We had beef and broccoli for dinner. I have seen other people try it so I thought I would give it a go.

Putting away groceries is not my favorite.

Since I was home for lunch I made my own instead of eating out. I couldn't decide between a salad or a smoothie. So I had a little bit of both. I halved the smoothie recipe and made a smaller salad. Yumm. I took some time to relax, look at the correct ads and finish up The Blacklist.

Open. Open. Open. Please. P.S. Thank you Trader Joes for always providing me with beautiful flowers. Todays pick were peonies.

Maddie has loved the emoji plushies from McDonalds Happy Meals.

Our attempt at Division math facts. Thankfully she is pretty fluent and it doesn't take to long.

Thursdays are sometimes rough. It is not quite the weekend, so I still expect everyone to do a few chores, homework, ect. Well this Thursday was no different. I was super tired by the time that the kids got home and I tried my best to coordinate and order everyone around so to speak. I quickly lost steam and so it turned out to be a " let's make a fort and have pillow fights kind of an afternoon.

Pillow fights.

This boy is always wearing his Santa hat. To bed. Around the house.

Noah's favorite chore hands down is to water the garden.

After I supervised some of the garden watering I went back inside. The next thing I know is that these two were taking turns squirting eachother. They were conducting a test to see which spray function is their favorite  !!!!! So naturally they both were all soaking wet by the end of the testing.

Katelyn has a few projects due tomorrow for school. So thankful she is a great sport about getting stuff down and will be here most of the night.

I helped print off pictures for her State Report brochure. She brought me her brochure and told me where she needed the photos. I measured what size and printed them out. I am grateful for my photoshop skills in times like this.

About 5 pm I decided that I needed a fast power nap. I went up and laid down and set my alarm for an hour. THIS was much needed and I was good to go the rest of the day.

When I woke up I found this scene in the pool. The famous daddy/kid made whirlpool. They all run/walk as fast as they can around the pool and it makes a small whirlpool that they can coast around.

And of course any time daddy swims with them they request this.

Again Daddy.

It was time to make a quick dinner of Beef and Broccoli and they all loved it. After dinner clean up it was time to get ready for bed.

Any time Patrick is looking at his phone, watching videos, or music the girls are also sucked in.

" Daddy I need some help with my report cover. " She asked me but I don't know anything about powerpoint. So daddy to the rescue.

Another day documented. I am very grateful to be doing this project. It can be challenging at times. Yes I could spent more time sometimes getting better quality photos. But all in all I am very happy with what I am capturing and preserving.

There are still some photos I need to take. Around the house photos. Garden status photos, ect. But those are easy to get.

Stay tuned for the weekends photos. Most likely I will group them all together.

Thank you all very much for joining me on this journey so far. Enjoy your weekend !
