December Daily Day 12 | 2015

Hi there everyone !

I thought that I would pop in today to share a few December Daily pages with you. If you are not familiar with December Daily it is a project where you document December each day in a separate album. You can check out Ali Edwards website for more details. I will be doing lots of December Daily posts in the coming month so consider yourselves warned !

Today I am going to be sharing my Day 12 from last year. This day the kids wrote their Santa letters.

Some of the kids were not in the best moods to write letters, mainly the grumpy one in the Santa hat.

I added a sticker and the wood star onto the photo. I had some wood pieces on each side of my layout so I wanted to add some more wood, so I added the star on the top photo. The bottom photo I got up on a tall stool to take my photo. I added an Ali Edwards brush in the middle of the photo to start out. Then I added that wonderful wood piece from Color Cast Designs. It is from the December Vibes set if you wanted to check it out. I also added in a pink star to help tie in the pink that is on the other side. The Star is from Color Cast Designs as well.

Here is a look at the other side.

I left the photo of Katelyn writing her letter alone. I thought there was plenty on the page and so I didn't need to add anything to the photo. Next to the photo the filler card with the gold 12 card. I think that is from a Studio Calico kit last year. I added a Dear Santa stamp and another pink star.

On the bottom row I added another fun filler card. The card has a bunch of envelopes on it and I thought that was perfect. I added the pink circle from Color Cast Designs to the card for a fun look. The last card is that green journaling card. I thought that the saying was fitting since most of the kids were not in the mood to write to Santa. I wanted to add in a touch of red so I added a strip of washi tape underneath the little embellishments. The wood Christmas tree is another piece from Color Cast Designs. Aren't they so cute ?!! I am going to need more of them.

That is it for my DD day 12. I do want to pop in soon with a post about starting this years album so be on the lookout for that.

Thanks everybody ! I can't believe December is only 2 days away !

Project Life Week 43 | Cocoa Daisy Guest Designer

Hello there !

Whew, this month has sure flown by ! With Thanksgiving only a few days away I am striving to find any crafty time these days. With that being said I am going to try and make this post short. I have more scrapping to get done, deadlines, and pumpkin pies to bake.

Let's get right to it then. Here is a photo of week 43.

This particular week I chose to use the Cocoa Daisy November Kit called Sprinkles. I am still Guest Designing over there till the end of the month.

Here is the left side. The previous week I used a different page protector than I normally would. So no need to panic, I picked some photos that would work and off I went. Pockets got filled.

This bright yellow card was perfect for my title card. I added a vellum circle to soften the bright yellow and it worked out well.

This card came together from a photo prompt. That lead me to tell a small story about the photo and this spot on my staircase. Check out #hashtagthisweek on Instagram for more info.

The colors of fall are finally showing up around here. I layered a few more printables and stickers from the kit on the photo.

Here are a few close ups of the photos and cards on the left side. Cocoa Daisy has a sheet of printables and I used a couple of them to add some embellishments to this pumpkin photo.

This yes card talks about how I tried to get photos of my kids at the Trunk or Treat that week.

This weeks color scheme really was fun to put together and to tie things in here and there.

This might have been my favorite card from the kit. Loved this one.

Let's move on the right side. Donuts, need I say more.

Here is what the whole right side looks like.

We had a day during the week that required donuts. They saved the day for sure, plus I was able to practice my food photography ! Win, win.

More proof of every day life. Katelyn reading in the car, and puppies all lined up ready to watch football.

This caffeine card was also one of my favorites from the kit. Ummm, yeah. Even though I am not a coffee drinker, I do love my Dr. Pepper and caffeine fix. The bottom photo is of my MUG run on Saturday, meaning we go and fill up our mugs on Saturday mornings. It's tradition. I added an Ali Edwards Saturday brush across the photo.

This card makes me happy !

Well folks, that is it for me today. Week 43 is in the books and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Lots of stories, photos and memories documented.

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving everyone and see you back here shortly. Take care now.

Project Life Week 40 | Drive Story Kit

Hello there !

I am back with you today sharing week 40. This week was the first week in October. I went ahead and used some of my Drive Story kit from Ali Edwards. I have more plans to use up my Drive kit later for some summer kits. So let's get started shall we.

The colors in this kit went really well with this weeks photos. I do try and match up my cards and embellishments up with my photos. I love it when they both coordinate ! Here is a look of the left side.

This title card was what sold me on using the Drive kit. The colors matched perfectly with my photos and I loved the card. I added the rubber banner and a half a circle with the star.

It just so happened that this week I had taken photos that went along with the Drive theme. One morning we woke up and went to get cereal for breakfast. Come to find out even though I had gone to the store the night before I had forgotten the milk. Mom Fail ! So off we went through the McDonald's Drive thru for breakfast. I used the " Drive " brush from the digital brush set and added some small white letters on the bottom to spell out Thru.

The first journaling card talks about how I am always driving to the school. I used one of those fun journal prompt rectangle pieces on the journaling card.

Here is a closer look at some of the left side. I snapped a photo of my scrap desk that week and I added a small 2x2 photo onto a journaling card.

I struggled with this card for seemed like forever. It was the last one to be done and it just wasn't coming together. At first I had other cards in this spot and then I spotted this older Story kit card it was perfect. I added a few embellishments and called it done.

This photo has a funny story. I added my journaling onto the photo to save space.

Let's move on the right side now. I made sure I carried over the color scheme to this side as well.

I didn't end up taking a photo of this top left photo for some reason. But I wanted to talk about it. I used the triangle from the digital stamp set and the word details. I changed the color of the Details word using one of the digital cards. I picked a color that I thought that would match the rest of my page well. I chose the color from the journaling card and changed the color of the word. I use this technique all the time to keep all the colors the same.

The photo on the right is a photo of one of the many carrot fields that I drive by almost daily. I love how there is a oil pump jack in the background.

Here is a close up look at these fun journaling/filler cards. I added some embellishments onto a piece of 3x4 transparency so that it created a see through element.

Here is a look at the bottom left side. We went to Home Depot that week to pick up a few flowers and bushes for the yard and my flower pot. And of course we brought home a few pumpkins.

I loved this journaling card. I took this opportunity to write about the agriculture fields that surround us where we live. I added a few embellishments to this card and I love how it turned out.

Week 40 is now complete and in the books. I have to say how I am loving these Story kits and how they have made my story telling and photography grow. I am telling more meaningful/deeper stories and they also inspire me to take some photos as well. If you want to check them out go to Ali Edwards shop for more information.

Have a fabulous rest of the weekend everybody. I hope to be back in a few days with another Project Life spread.

December Daily Day 11 | 2015

Hi guys ! Sorry it's been so long since my last post.

I am back with you today with a project that I created for Color Cast Designs. I am on their Creative Team now and will be sharing lots of fun pages with you all.

Can I make a confession ? I am not done with my 2015 December Daily album. Not even close. Cringe worthy I know. But seriously, I am not worried. I will get it done one of these days.

Anyone else doing a December Daily album this year ? What are your strategies for success ? What are your plans ? I am going to try and set up my album ahead of time. But with that being said, its now November 10 th and I have made minimum process. We shall see.

Let's get started. These pages are from day 11 of last December. Jessica over at Color Cast Designs has a bunch of December/Christmas items available. Seriously so cute, all of it.

Here is the set that I used to make these pages. The set is called December Vibes.

Here is a look at what both pages look like.  I do love this gold album but I am not so sure I like it with my pages and photos. Hmmm, I am going to probably switch it out with something else.

This set was perfect for a story/journaling I wanted to document. I had written down some things I wanted to remember from day 11. I was putting up the last of the decorations and kept thinking about what having " That Christmas Feeling " meant.

I made this filler card with the green " Feeling " acrylic piece and the wood piece from the set. I paired it up with a photo of the finished garland on my stair railing.

I thought the photo needed a little bit of something. So I added a few embellishments to the corner.

Here is the other side. For day 10 I had added in a Starbucks bag. So I had to add my journaling onto the back of the bag. I love how it ended up looking.

In the beginning I knew that I wanted to add in these acrylic words into my journaling. I played around with a few options and decided to add a strip of Simple Stories washi tape underneath the words.

I printed out my journaling onto some vellum and then added it on top of some graph patterned paper. To make sure the vellum wasn't coming off I added some glue underneath the washi tape and acrylic letters.

Each day in my album I love to incorporate numbers to say which day it was. I added this Studio Calico piece to the corner to my journaling.

Well that is it for my DD day 11. Thanks for coming today.

Week 35 | Cocoa Daisy Guest Designer

Happy November everyone !

I for one am so thankful that November is here. I always look forward to this time of year. The weather is amazing and family will be joining us for the Holidays. It is also a time to reflect on all that I am thankful for.

Today I want to share with you some great news ! I have been asked to be the guest designer over at Cocoa Daisy ! Isn't that amazing ! I was so happy to be asked and have loved working with their kits. I received both the Scrapbook and the Day In The Life kit from them. The kit for November is called Sprinkles and is full of lots of pretty things. Including lots of donuts, cupcakes, pretty colors, and more. You will see products from both of those kits being used in these pages. Make sure you go check out their kits.

Here is what the whole spread looks like.

The colors in this kit are by far my favorite. The blues, yellows, and pinks, with a hint of read makes it so pretty don't you think ? Here is the left side of week 35.

I decided to make my own title card for this week. I wanted to use that pretty aqua color paper and at first I had a whole 4x6 piece of it. It was to much blue so I trimmed it down and added those Amy Tangerine chipboard words on top.

You know those great quotes you sometimes see on Instagram or Facebook. I like to take screenshots of them to save and work into my PL spreads. There was a great one that I took during week 35. It paired perfectly with the pink cupcake card from the DITL kit.

I took this photo of our backyard neighbors palm trees during week 35. I wanted to remember that I love how I can see them when I am outside, or even from inside the house. I love them and it makes me think I am at the beach. I added some of the sequins to the photo.

Katelyn came home one day from school with her Saxophone. They had their first band meeting and got to take home their instruments. Yay !!

I used that gorgeous white card for my journaling card about Katelyn and her being a band kid now. The photo next to it is of us going to workout on Saturday.

This week was the first real week of homework. I snapped a photo of Katelyn sitting at the table. This is a daily scene now and I love it. All the kids will sit together at the kitchen table or the counter and do their homework.

I added in that pretty pink and yellow card to tie in some more pink and yellow to the right side of the spread.

In the kit there are a few fun flair pieces. I loved using it on that yellow card. It was perfect.

Noah brought home his journal from school one day. I loved looking through it and to see how he has improved his writing skills.  I added the N and a word strip underneath.

Here is what the right side looks like.

On Wednesday we had another Wednesday Adventure. This time we invited some friends to go to the spray park with the big bucket. It was the last week that the water was on so I wanted to make sure we went. I added an Ali Edwards brush on the photo.

I had a few more fun photos from the spray park so I added them onto this 3x4 card.

Football season started that week and we took a family bike ride.

I picked up these cute Utah finger cheer things over the summer while I was in UT. I snapped a photo the day that the season started.

On the bottom of my journaling card I love to add little clusters of embellishments. I think it adds that little something extra.

I knew that I needed to add in some more color over on this right side. I went with some patterned paper and a 4x4 photo. I added a sticker to the photo on top of my journaling and finished it off with this cute bike.

Here is closer look at the top corner of the right side.

I loooved this cute kraft card. I decided to use it to hold my journaling about our Wednesday Adventure. I added a few different embellishments here and there making sure not to overwhelm the card with to many things.

Well folks, that's it for me today. Thank you for coming and I hope you have found some inspiration. I loved working with the Cocoa Daisy kit and look for more spreads coming soon.
